What is so special about Kibuye?
Kibuye Town is on the east coast of Lake Kivu. It is a popular vacation spot in Rwanda for many reasons. The lake is body temperature all year round and free of dangerous animals like hippopotamus's and crocodiles. Ideal for swimming.

| There are a number of small
islands and coves to explore in this section of the lake. If you can
access a canoe or dingy you can have an unforgettable day out.
There are several guest houses and hotels on the lake and in the town (10 minutes walk from the lake). |
There is also camping available on the Island Amahoro (Peace Island). Tents or just a pitch can be rented. The cuisine is very basic, but it is peaceful and not much to do apart from swim, talk, read or play volley ball. Access is via boat taxi which is run by the island.
